Banbury pupils enjoy festive concert in church

Pupils at Banbury Academy gathered at St Mary’s Church last night (Thursday) for their Christmas Concert.

The evening’s festivities were kicked off by a beautiful rendition of Falling Slowly by the whole school choir, Tenacity.

Stand out performances from an array of talented Sixth Form students punctuated the evening with class, sophistication and flair.

Year Ten student Georgia Smith delighted the audience with her rendition the song War is Over, made famous by John Lennon, and Year seven students showed off their developing vocal skills in the guise of two carefully prepared Christmas numbers – the second of which perfectly demonstrated the energy and concentration of the year group as a whole.

Carols were sung by all, readings were delivered with clarity and poise and the evening was appropriately completed by a rousing rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

Huge thanks go to all staff involved, in particular Louise Willis, the Head of Music for organising the event.
