Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home in Banbury is beginning work on their new home on Bath Road.
In partnership with Thomas Vale Builders and Clydesdale Bank, construction work is due to start this month on the former Holly House site and will be ready to open in May 2017.
Once completed it will provide a high standard of nursing and dementia care for older people in the town.
Margaret Clark, chairman of the board of directors at Green Pastures, said: “Green Pastures exists to show the love of Jesus in the care we offer to people in need, of all faiths or none.
“We encourage our residents to live life to the full and we have an extensive activities programme to facilitate this.
“We are so pleased that we can now extend our high standard of care to more people and to provide them with a home from home.”
The nursing home is currently based in the Hawthorns off the Oxford Road and is a Christian, not-for-profit charity. It currently caters for about 30 residents at its current site.
They have been providing high quality care in Banbury for more than 20 years and when their new development opens, it will provide care for 60 people.
Residents will be able to enjoy the provision of large en suite bedrooms, a landscaped garden, a hairdressing salon and a variety of light airy communal spaces including a sun-lounge, a craft room and a coffee bar.
