An intrepid Banbury man has reached the summit of Africa’s highest peak to raise money for orphaned elephants.
Richard Valdambrini reached the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro at the end of last month to raise awareness and money for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
He said: “It was very exhausting and a lot harder than I had imagined. Amazing to go through all the different climate zones on the way up.
He added: “I did not suffer any symptoms of AMS ( acute mountain sickness ) but saw the helicopter fly up twice to take people back down. Definitely a ‘ once in a life time experience.”
