Banbury Basketball Club are aiming to provide professional basketball coaching to school children with summer camps and after-school programs.

The independent club is the brainchild of Justin Cookson and former professional basketball player and current coach Richard ‘Big Moe’ Moses, who started the club in the early part of this year.

Their goal was a simple one; to bring professional basketball coaching to school children in Banbury and surrounding areas and so far the mission has been a success.

The club ran an Easter camp at the North Oxfordshire Academy (NOA) on the Stratford Road, which was well received by parents.

The club run term time after school coaching sessions at both NOA and the Warriner School in Bloxham and will be adding Banbury Academy to the list this coming September.

They are also running two, week long summer camps. The first will be at the NOA between Monday July 25 and Friday July 29 and a second one at BGN School in Banbury between Monday August 22 and Friday 26.

Both camps run from 10am until 2pm and are open to boys and girls from 11 to 18 years of age of all ability levels.

Camps cost £60. For more information visit www.banburybasketball.com or email banburybasketball@gmail.com.
