Staff at a Banbury firm have smashed their fundraising target to raise more than £11,000 for four charities.
Heating equipment supplier Walraven, based on Thorpe Way, set about raising £5,000 in 2015 to be split between Style Acre, MS Society, Dogs for Good and Katharine House Hospice.
Staff organised events throughout the year including a cycle ride from Lands End to John O Groats, breakfast mornings and a parachute jump. They calculated a final total of £11,464.43, which is more than double their target.
Gary Gardner, general manager at Walraven UK said “The team at Walraven have worked tirelessly throughout 2015. They’ve cycled the length of Great Britain, thrown themselves out of aeroplanes and hosted fun days to name but a few fundraising events.
“I am delighted that together we’ve raised a terrific £11,464 to support both local and national charities including Katharine House and the MS Society.”
As well as the bigger events, the staff at the Banbury office also held quiz nights and did family fun days, and Mr Gardner sent a letter to all those who help them reach their final figure.
In the letter to supporters he said: “We could not have achieved this amazing sum without your support, and therefore wanted to thank you for your generosity.”
