Ms Matthews, who runs Kick Start Fat Loss Banbury, is encouraging all those who attend her classes to take along their unwanted chocolates, biscuits, crisps and tins of food for distribution to others in need.

“Every person who comes to my classes will be on some kind of healthy eating and exercise campaign throughout January so I have asked them all to bring their unwanted foodstuffs along with them,” she said.

“At the end of January I am taking it all to the local homeless shelter whereby it will be distributed among all the homeless shelters throughout Oxfordshire. It’s fine for anyone who isn’t involved in classes but wants to support our scheme to drop off food to be passed on.”
