Banbury driver dies in collision near Adderbury

A 20-year-old man from Banbury died in a car crash between Adderbury and Deddington on Friday.

He was travelling in a red Ford Fiesta at about 7.30am on the A4260 Oxford Road when the vehicle was involved in a collision with a red Scania tipper lorry which was travelling in the opposite direction.

A grey Volkswagen Passat travelling behind the Fiesta was also involved in the collision. A green Peugeot 206 was then hit by debris.

His next of kin has been informed.

The road was closed while Roads Policing officers investigated the circumstances of the collision and dealt with the incident.

Senior investigating officer Sgt Jack Hawkins, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I would like to speak to anyone saw the collision or saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision. If you have any information which they think could assist the investigation please contact police on 101.”
