Attempted burglary at care home in Banbury

At approximately 3.30am last Friday, an offender attempted to gain entry to a property. Staff disturbed the offender and he left the premises.

The offender was seen walking away towards the Thai Orchid restaurant on North Bar and down Banbury High Street. He stopped outside Tesco Express at about 3.55am and then spoke to the driver of a dark coloured car. He then walked off towards George Street.

Police would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV image as he may have information which could help with the police investigation.

Investigating Officer, PC Bryan Groves from local CID at Banbury police station, said: “I would like to locate any witnesses to the incident, especially the driver of the car who speaks to the suspect. This crime is concerning as the offender has targeted vulnerable members of community who would have been very frightened by what has happened.

“If you have any information regarding the incident or saw anything suspicious please contact through the non emergency 101 enquiry centre. If you recognise the man in the CCTV image, please contact us.
