Assault outside McDonald’s restaurant in Banbury

Police are appealing for information following an assault near McDonald’s in Banbury’s town centre.

At about 9.45pm last Thursday, the victim and his friend were leaving the restaurant in Bridge Street when they were approached by two other men.

An altercation took place between the group and the victim and his friend attempted to walk away. The offender then threw several punches towards the victim but caused no injury.

In a bid to escape, the victim punched the offender once in self-defence and was then abel to flee the scene. The offender sustained a cut to his head.

Police are trying to identify the victim of the assault, which has been viewed on CCTV footage.

Both the victim and his friend are white, aged in their early twenties and of average height and build. They were both wearing black trousers and hooded grey tops.

The offender is white, aged in his late teens and of heavy build. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and light grey jogging bottoms.
