There is just a month to go before Katharine House’s charity Fire Walk and the Adderbury charity are encouraging Banbury residents to take the plunge.
Consisting of a 12 foot barefoot walk over hot coals, the Fire Walk is more an act of mental strength than physical endurance.
Dozens of people have already signed to the event including Banbury residents Candice O’carrol and Sarah Watts whose motivation is simple.
Sarah said: “It’s an amazing local charity that unfortunately we will all possibly have a connection with.
“It’s just a great way to give support and hopefully inspire others.”
The event takes place on Friday, October 12 at the Banbury Rugby Club from 7pm.
Before the fire walk participants will receive all the training necessary during a two hour motivational session to safely complete the walk over the 1000 degree Fahrenheit coals.
The prospect of placing bare skin on coals hot enough to melt aluminium doesn’t phase Sarah as who has “feet like hooves” and she has already surpassed her £500 fundraising target via sponsorships and a Just Giving page.
To take part in the event registration is £25 with a £125 minimum sponsorship donation.
Banbury companies are also being encouraged to join as corporate sponsors with many using the event as a team building exercise.
