Another Banbury based firm get behind the Katharine House Firewalk

Spratt Endicott employees, Nicky Smith, Anis Waiz, Natalie Tanner and Clare Gardener will take the Katharine House Hospice Firewalk challenge NNL-180910-144943001

Natalie Tanner, Nicky Smith, Clare Gardner and Anis Waiz will be making the 12 foot, barefooted walk over 1000°F ashes this Friday, October 12 at Banbury Rugby Club.

Although quite possibly the shortest sponsored walk you could participate in the mental challenge is large and increases as the day approaches.

Nicky said: “I’m not sure whose idea it was. We just sort of conjured it up and wrote to Clare and Anis got roped in. There’s no backing out now.”

Natalie added: “I did the midnight walk so I get the newsletter from that and I saw the firewalk and thought that looks good.”

The foursomes roles at the Banbury and Bicester located solicitors offices range from solicitor to lead secretary, not jobs that prepare you for such an adrenaline fuelled feat of mind over matter.

Nicky said: “I don’t really know what to expect.”

Clare added: “I haven’t even read up on it so I have literally no idea what I am doing.”

Both Nicky and Natalie have had friends and relatives in the hospice but the idea of raising money for local charities has a wider resonance with the company.

Natalie said: “We have three charities of the year that we support so Katharine House is one of them so we decided to key it with that. as well as it being something close to our hearts.”

Anis added: “As a business, social and corporate responsibility is key to what we’re about and it is really important to us. We don’t just sponsor a charity we want to get involved with it.”

Spratt Endicott has got behind the group by paying for their entrance fees while the group are also raising money via a Justgiving page and personal sponsorship and have set a target of £200.

The event begins at 7pm with the actual walkers setting off over the coals around two hours later. There will be music, food and drink available and spectators and supporters are welcome to attend.

Nicky said: “It will be an experience and hopefully we’ll raise a lot of money.”
