Featherton House in Deddington was adorned with pink bows, cards and a telegram from HM The Queen as centenarian Nancy Stirling celebrated her 100th birthday.

Mrs Stirling was surrounded by family and friends on Friday and Lady Saye and Sele and Featherton House each presented her with 50 pink and white roses.

Mrs Stirling moved to Featherton House aged 99 from the Steeple Aston home she had shared with her late husband, Robert. A passionate horse rider as a child and later a breeder of champion donkeys, Mrs Stirling was a magistrate and is mother of two daughters who attended the celebrations with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
