Radway Village Hall

Critically acclaimed acoustic trio Whalebone are coming to Radway. The group, who have won several awards internationally for their music, have a passionate belief in bringing their professional and entertaining show to community venues. Whalebone’s show comprises high-energy acoustic music alongside haunting atmospheric tunes, and features instruments including a five-string violin and an eight-string baritone guitar.

Poetic Licence present Devout Coward. An evening of words and music celebrating the life of Noel Coward, a man who combined the talents of playwright, poet, actor, singer and songwriter. A favourite of the famous, friend of stars of stage and screen, entertainer of the troops all over the world during the Second World War, he may be regarded today as the man for whom the word ‘celebrity’ may well have been invented. This entertainment, devised and written by Sonia Blinkhorn, explores his full and exciting life, with extracts from his plays and performances of some of his many, still familiar and well-loved, songs. Big Mouth Strikes Again Big Mouth Strikes Again serves up a unique hour-long show in which the comedian reminisces on the times where his big mouth has got him into trouble. Expect an evening of hilarious, heart-warming and occasional naughty laughs.

Three comedians will preview new material for their forthcoming Edinburgh Festival shows. Tom Ward has made a name for himself in comedy as a finalist in the BBC Radio New Comedy Award 2014, Leicester Square New Comedian Final 2013 and NATY Final 2014. Darren Harriott, originally from Birmingham and now living in London, is a hit on the live circuit and a regular at clubs such as The Stand, The Glee Club and Angel Comedy. An evening with Hugo Brunner, My father and I. All Lieutenant Felix Brunner’s letters from the Western Front to his parents and sister have survived. They are a vividrecord of the experiences of a junior officer in the Royal Field Artillery, from April 1917 to January 1919. Aged 19, he fought in the battle of Messines and participated in the Hundred Days campaign which brought the war to a bloody but successful conclusion. Tickets £15.
