A showstopping night of improvised music

Professional musical troupe The Showstoppers are old hats at taking to the stage without a script or pre-prepared material for their show.

But these talented bunch aren’t disorganised or unreheased - they improvise their performance based on suggestions from the audience.

It means that no two performances are ever the same, as the quick-witted performers create a plot and characters from scratch.

The group have performed sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe for the past eight years and are regarded by regular festival goers as a must-see act.

Their BBC Radio 4 series operated on the same premise, using contributions from a studio audience.

They also had a recent run at London’s Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, where the shows they performed received rave reviews from critics.

With their stand-out blend of comedy, musical theatre and spontaneity, this group have delighted audiences across the world and performed to spectacular applause at the Olivier awards.
