Popular Banbury scrapstore Orinoco announces grand reopening at bigger premises
Orinoco the Oxfordshire Scrapstore, which looks to inspire art, creativity and play through the reuse and upcycling of materials and products, will be moving to a larger location at 57-58 High St, Banbury (the old Post Office) after a year at the premises on 15 High Street.
The grand reopening event will start at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Banbury town Mayor, Cllr Jayne Strangwood, and will be followed by many activities and games for children and adults to partake in, including a raffle, free craft sessions and an opportunity to meet the team behind Orinoco.

Orinoco the Oxfordshire Scrapstore is an independent charity that recycles unwanted, good-quality, commercial and domestic objects from businesses and householders to use in the shop or donate elsewhere.
Manager at Orinoco, Lisa Hawtin, said: “It’s very exciting, we will be able to get more stock in and also we will be able to hold more workshops and groups for people to come and try crafts and get together.
“We will now be able to hold a permanent children’s craft area and have more of the loose parts play and scrap for schools and people that work with children to come and collect resources.”
