Figures show how many meals were eaten in Banbury during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme - and how much money people saved

The Eat Out to Help Out scheme has been hailed a massive success in Banbury after discounts topping £625,000 were handed out.

Thousands of people turned out to take advantage of the Government initiative throughout August as the hospitality industry fights back amid the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

A stunning 126,000 cut-price meals were eaten in the parliamentary constituency.

In total, 113 business registered for the scheme.

Restaurants, pubs and cafes said the scheme was a huge benefit and many have continued their own discount offers.
