Beautiful ballet on Banbury stage

Classical ballet takes centre stage next week when the acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet Company comes to Banbury.

The talented troupe will perform of one of the world’s best loved classical ballets, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, at The Mill on Saturday, March 5.

The story centres around Prince Siegfried. While out hunting, the prince meets a flock of swans led by a Queen Swan who is under the evil spell of a magician Baron Rothbart. He falls in love with the Queen of the Swans and tries to free them all. However, the magician has a few tricks up his sleeve.

This production offers specially designed glamorous costumes and striking sets which aim to project colour and vitality to enhance the workings of the dancers, choreographer and the composer.

The production includes all the essential ingredients to appeal to a wide audience base from youngsters wishing to see the art of ballet live on stage to those wishing to enjoy an evening offering a good story combined with music and dance.
