This means there were more than 6,300 vaccinations over the seven days between February 21 and February 28.

Latest NHS figures show 44,153 have had the jab up to February 28 - and with vaccinations continuing, we can expect that the figure to be close to the 45,000 mark.

Last week, we reported that the figure stood at 37,786 for the Cherwell area (which covered the period from December 8 to February 21).

Nearly 45,000 people have now had the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine in the Cherwell District.

The latest figures show 12,715 have received their first vaccination within the wards of Banbury town.

The area in Banburyshire with the largest per cent of its population having received the first dose of the vaccine is Shipston with 50 per cent.
