Latest figures show slight increase in confirmed Covid-19 cases across Oxfordshire

There has been a total of 1,026 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Oxfordshire, which includes 212 cases reported by the University of Oxford for the seven days up to October 30.
This is similar to 1,021 new cases in the previous week, which includes 208 cases reported by the University of Oxford the previous week.

Hide AdThis is equivalent to a weekly rate of new cases of 148.3 per 100,000 residents.
The city of Oxford had the most confirmed cases with 418 across the whole county, when the cases reported by the University of Oxford were included in the total.
The Cherwell area had the second highest number of confirmed cases with 215.
Officials with Cherwell District Council have said the overwhelming majority of services will still be delivered without interruption during the second lockdown.

Hide AdCllr Barry Wood, leader of Cherwell District Council, said: “We have been watching national developments very closely and have adjusted the services we offer accordingly. It is vital that everyone observes the new lockdown rules so that we can make sure this period of restrictions is as effective as possible in bringing infections down.”
The new Covid-19 measures reflect the rapidly rising spread of the virus across the country and a significant rise in hospital admissions.
The South and West Oxfordshire areas were the only ones to have an increase in confirmed cases with 151 and 133 confirmed cases respectively.
The Vale of White Horse area had the lowest number of confirmed cases with 109 for the seven days up to October 30.
