Last night (Thursday March 26) Banbury area residents joined in the national effort to thank all the NHS staff who are working tirelessly throughout the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Clap For Our Carers, or #clapforourcarers, campaign saw people across the UK applaud NHS workers from the doorsteps, balconies or windows of their homes, in order to say thank you for all of their hard work.

NHS workers are classed as key workers so it’s currently very difficult for them to get time off, and there may be an increasing number of staff shortages if workers themselves get ill from the virus.

Here's a video of the team at the Forsyth Farm near Kineton as they joined in the big thank you effort.

William Forsyth said: "We wanted to do something different to show our appreciation and to show the farming community is thinking about the NHS and care workers.

“They are going through a really tough time. I cannot imagine how hard it must be for them, and I hope this video might just give them a bit of an uplift.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people and families affected by this awful situation."
