Chairman and founder, Andy Willis, BCAv, says his team has been making contact with clients providing emotional and practical help over the past few weeks of the crisis. The advice centre is still functioning helping residents by phone or email.

"Our volunteers have been working hard to support Banburyshire residents. If you need support, do get in touch. The phone is digital so is affected by WiFi and demand on internet so if you get cut off please leave your name and contact details and we will ring you back.

"We realised early on that people need extra support during this challenging time and so the charity has produced a series of guides and fact sheets for the general public. The guides cover mental well-being, a general fact-sheet to help with self isolation, relaxation, food issues and finance matters.

“Although this is a challenging time, Banburyshire Advice Centre, like many charities, is shining bright during this period of uncertainty.

"The shadow will pass and we must hang onto hope for better times ahead. Although the path ahead may have many challenges and upsets, we must connect with each other and support each other during this difficult time. It is essential we all polish our small area of the table, whether we are a charity or individual," he said.

"Charities are here to help and individuals can be a great source of support and comfort. It is OK to say you are feeling frazzled in these uncertain times, so do reach out to others for support by phone or by technology. The charity hopes the guides will be of great help. We are grateful for Banbury Town Council for the grant that has made it possible to compile these guides.”
