Banbury takeaway business delivers 300 fresh meals to key workers and vulnerable people in community

Employees from the Banbury Spicy Kebabish restaurant and takeaway volunteered to deliver the fresh meals to NHS workers at Horton General Hospital, to the Banbury Police Station, to the Banbury Fire Station and to a care home in town.
Adam Ahmed, the owner of the restaurant, and several of his employees worked most of the day cooking and delivering the food around town on Sunday March 29. The hot fresh meals included vegetable rice with lentils and vegetable samosas.

Hide AdAdam said: "While we have the time we thought we'd show our support for some key workers like the NHS, fire and police. This is our way of giving back and showing our appreciation to the nation's heroes
"It's just to show our support for everyone on the front lines because at the end of the day they are risking their lives for us."
They hope to do some more deliveries to people in the community later in the week.
Banbury Spicy Kebabish restaurant and takeaway, located in Broad Street, closed temporarily last week due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Banbury Spicy Kebabish has been a family owned business in the town centre since 2007.

Hide AdAdam added: "Instead of us operating as a food business right now, we're helping the community as much as we can for free.
"We're trying our best to help. We're here to help our community."
The Banbury Spicy Kebabish restaurant re-opened for business on Wednesday April 1. They are now providing a 'no contact' delivery service and takeaway.
Their temporary opening hours are: 5pm - 10pm - seven days a week.

Hide AdDuring this period they will only be allowing two customers into the restaurant at a time.
Customers are asked to wait outside to ensure all customers have a two metre gap between them instore.
