Banbury Morrisons makes donations to local charities and NHS during COVID-19 pandemic

Morrisons Banbury has made food donations to local charities and to local staff members of the NHS throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Nationwide Morrisons has donated £10 million pounds worth of food to the various food banks. They have also donated food to several charities local to the Banbury area, including the Banbury Mosque, the Banbury Young Homelessness Project (BYHP), the Salvation Army, The Peoples Church, The Sunshine Centre among others.

The Banbury Morrisons donated more than 600 Easter eggs and a large amount of hand creams to the NHS staff at Horton General Hospital.

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: "We want to help as many families in this time of need as we can.

"We also have a food bank station in every single Morrisons store nationwide that customers can donate to when they do their own shopping. This helps us to reach out to even more people."

The supermarket is also running a doorstep delivery scheme where anyone who is elderly, vulnerable, or in self-isolation, can call their head office on 0345 611 6111 option 5 where they can place an order to a telesales operator.

The order then gets sent to the customer's local store that evening with picking and free delivery the next day. Payment is made contact less card or chip and pin.
