Barking Mad Banbury home dog boarding business has suddenly found itself with cancelled bookings and plenty of time on its 'paws.'

With this is in mind, Barking Mad are offering themselves and their dedicated dog carrying van (Mutley) as a free community pet taxi service during these unprecedented times.

Any pet, not just dogs, who has an appointment with vets or any other pet professional such as groomers can be transported. With the cooperation of local vets they are also more than happy to deliver pet 'meds’ if required.

Andrea Cawley of Barking Mad Banbury, said: "We love arranging home from home dog boarding holidays for our wonderful customers and their dogs, but obviously they are all having to cancel their travel plans leaving us in the office with little to do.

"So rather than sitting around twiddling our thumbs, drinking too much coffee and making-up admin tasks, we thought we’d put our experience and assets to use and help local pet owners.

"This is how we came up with the idea of a community pet taxi for trips to the vets, or groomers. We will of course adopt all government health and safety protocols when collecting and returning animals."

Andrea Cawley reiterates, that this will be a free local transport service for owners needing to fulfill their pet appointments, but unable to travel because of self-isolation.

She added: “It's our way of keeping occupied and saying thank you. We aren’t charging, but any contributions to fuel costs, however small, would be most welcome.”
