St Mary's Church of England Primary School in Southam Road has posted notice on its website of its closure due to Covid-19. The school reopen on Tuesday November 3.

Headteacher Victoria Woods sent a letter out about the closure to parents and carers on Sunday October 18.

The letter said: "St Mary’s School IS CLOSED. Please do not come to school this week.

"I have to inform you that we have had two confirmed COVID+VE tests amongst the staff and other staff members showing symptoms and waiting for results. No children have tested positive that we are aware of.

"We have taken the decision to close school for the week as a safety precaution and to allow school to be deep cleaned.

"Due to the number of staff isolating, we do not have enough people to open school safely.

"Most children have not been in contact with the affected people and do not need to isolate.

"But year two and children who have attended breakfast club between 13th and 16th of October Need to isolate for 14 days."
