A Banbury primary school has been closed for the current school term due to Covid-19, and will remain closed through the upcoming half term break.

Cherry Fields Primary School has issued a statement clarifying information listed on the Oxfordshire County Council's website about its school.

Cherry Fields Primary School remains fully operational for the children and families on roll.

The decision was made to provide critical worker provision at its nearby sister-school, Hardwick Primary School, due to the size of the school and very small numbers of children not accessing the remote learning offer from home rather than Covid itself.

Whilst the school building may be closed, the school remains very much open to its pupils.

The county council's emergency school closure list showed Cherry Fields Primary Schools had been fully shut for the current school term due to Covid-19.
