Former school pupil now turned author Emily Gale led a school assembly sharing her success as an author and a message, which included the importance of being an individual and different is to be both celebrated and encouraged.

The pupils were entertained and delighted as Emily read to them the tale of Maurice the moose from the children's book she'd written called 'Mighty Maurice'.

The book is aimed at children aged nine and younger and features a colouring in section. Emily has donated copies of the book to Bloxham Primary School.

Kesha Staples, a teacher at Bloxham Primary, said: "It transpires that several pupils are themselves penning books and Emily both encouraged and inspired them to complete their writing.

"Her advice to stay true to their original work and not be persuaded to change it to suit the ideas of others was from the heart.

"Emily’s achievement left many pupils in awe and admiration. Following the assembly she found time to offer further advice and sign autographs."
