The school was one of the options for shoppers to support with their tokens in the Tesco Community Grant scheme between January and March.

Year 2 and 3 teacher Gemma Ruffle said: “We came second and got £1,000 which meant we were able to buy Blue-Bots, Rugged Robot and some resources to support using these. This will help to support the children's computing skills as well as being used across the curriculum.

"As a small school, grants like this really help to support us with ensuring we are able to purchase up-to-date resources.”

A Blue-Bot and the Rugged Robot are programmable toys and the children are able to enter a set of instructions to make them move. They can do this on the items themselves or by using an iPad and controlling them via bluetooth. The items will be used by pupils right across the school.
