The event takes place on Wednesday, October 7 over four hours and is a great 'date' for those are considering options for next year at their local college.

Activate Learning is showcasing its range of programmes between 4pm - 8pm on that day. The virtual event will take place on the Activate Learning website via Microsoft Teams Live and anyone who would like to attend will need to register beforehand.

Those taking part will be able to watch presentations and specific talks about the college and its study areas. Prospective students will also get the chance to speak with industry-trained faculty staff and ask any questions they have during live Q&A sessions.

The programme includes the chance to find out more about all courses and programmes, discover more about college and the student experience, find the right course with help from teachers and the student support team, view facilities through 360 degree campus tours, videos and photographs, get to understand different qualifications and find out how learners are supported.

Staff will be available to discuss options and plan a learning pathway for students who will be able to explore the college's facilities and talk through all their options. Individuals will also be able to submit their application early to guarantee their place for next year.

A spokesman said: "At Activate Learning, students are supported in developing the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. Our learning programmes lead directly into sustainable career options and we can help them identify where their studies can take them."

Leah, a Visual Art and Design student, said: “You get to explore everything. The tutors are so encouraging and it’s so nice to be here. I love it. I’d come here every day if I could, I genuinely love college.

"I’ve seen a lot of people blossom; people I knew at school are so different now and you can tell they are now expressing themselves. They’re in nicer friendship groups and are more comfortable and confident."

Alex, who studied a Games Development Level 3 Extended Diploma, said: “The facilities are really good here and Activate Learning work with really good companies. We have a lot of high-tech computers and great resources in the library. It’s close to the town centre too.”
