Amelia Berrie, a year one pupil at Winchester House School in Brackley, recently received two Blue Peter badges

Amelia Berrie, a year two pupil at Winchester House School in Brackley, completed two projects during the summer term and submitted them to Blue Peter.

One project was to write an acrostic poem, which she wrote about her cat Arthur. The second project involved learning about ways to help marine life. Amelia made a poster detailing ways people can help protect the animals in the ocean.

She sent both pieces of work off to Blue Peter and was 'very surprised' to recently receive a blue and green Blue Peter badge.

Blue badges are awarded for sending in interesting letters, stories, makes, pictures or poems. Green badges are awarded for sending in letters and pictures that are about the environment, conservation or nature.

Blue Peter is a British children's television programme that was first broadcast in 1958. The programme, which has had continuous seasons since it was first aired, is now the longest-running children's TV show in the world.
