St John's Priory School sent its pupils a bear to remind the children how much they all care about them and a packet of wildflower seeds for them to plant, in a small pot to sprinkle in the garden. The seeds are to remind the pupils to 'bloom' and to be their best selves.

Headmistress Mrs Tracey Wilson said: "Never has there been a more pertinent time to think about our children's mental health and to really focus on the ways in which we can prioritise our children's happiness and wellbeing.

"We wish we could be marking this in a whole school assembly and in our classrooms with all our children this week. This is of course not possible yet and so we wanted to show that despite this, we do still care very much about our children's mental health and wellbeing as well as their parents and that of our teachers and wider school community."
