Activate Learning director appointed to Banbury Chamber of Commerce board

Nancy Buckley, director of career pathways in the lifestyles faculty, was appointed to the board on Friday, December 12 and will now use her passion for engaging with local business and education to benefit the organisation.

One of Nancy’s main focuses will be integrating Activate Learning’s curriculum, work placement proposition for students, and apprenticeships, with employer-led opportunities in Banbury.

Nancy said: “I’m incredibly proud to be appointed to the Board of Banbury & District Chamber of Commerce.

“I live in Banbury and I’m based at our Banbury campus in Broughton Road, so I see on a day-to-day basis the amazing opportunities our students are presented with through working with local businesses in the Banbury area.

“I hope that in this role, I can continue to serve the students of Activate Learning and the local business community and provide even greater opportunities for collaboration.

She added: “Activate Learning aims to create young people who are work-ready and have the attributes that employers want to see in their staff, and I know from first-hand experience that when young people are given opportunities to experience real workplaces, the benefits are enormous.”

Nancy previously worked closely with the A Better Connected Banbury Networking Group prior to her appointment to the Board, where she was responsible for holding successful events for businesses to explain the changes arriving with the new T-Level qualification.
