Kineton High School students raise over £27,000 for Katharine House Hospice
Students at Kineton High School have raised an impressive £27,782 for Katharine House Hospice after more than a decade of fundraising.
Students at the school began supporting the hospice back in 2014 as part of Katharine House’s Accumulator Challenge.
Since then, students at the school have taken part in various fundraising activities and events to raise money for the hospice.
The school is in fact the only team to have taken part every year since the challenge began.

Kineton High School’s dedication to supporting the hospice has been recognised with several awards over the years, including Most Funds Raised by a School, the Sustainability Award, Creativity Award and, most recently, the Community Award.
Speaking about the fantastic achievement, Ms Purnell, head of art and design at Kineton High School, said: “Keeping it simple, getting as many people involved as possible and having fun is the secret to our success.
“Katharine House Hospice has supported many people in our school community, and we like to give back where we can.”
Staff members from the hospice visited the school to thank students and staff for their long-standing support.
During the visit, former Kineton student Hannah, who is now a nurse at the hospice, chatted to Years 8 to 11 students about the opportunities available within the sector.
She said: “I hope speaking to the students helped them see there isn't just one path and that they can explore different options to find what suits them best.”
Much of the money donated to Katharine House Hospice was raised from the school's popular Christmas Craft Fair, where students create and sell handmade products.
