Art gallery near Banbury teams up with golf resort for unique display
An art gallery near Banbury has teamed up with a local golf resort to display a unique collection of original artworks celebrating the region's landscape.
Spencer House Gallery in Stourton is curating a new collection of original artwork on display at the nearby Feldon Valley golf resort.
The collection features works by award-winning landscape and urban painter Mark Owen, whose large-scale oil paintings aim to capture the beauty of the valley's tree canopies and countryside vistas.
Mark said: “Many of them are inspired by the wonderful landscape and golf course views at Feldon Valley, where I'm honoured to be the first Artist in Residence for the summer season.

“My choice of unusual canvas formats – from ultra-wide to thin and tall – reflects the many perspectives encountered while exploring this beautiful rural landscape at the meeting point of four counties.”
Each artwork has been selected by Spencer House Gallery founder Chris Woodcock and is available to purchase.
Speaking about the project, Chris said: “The idea is that this multi-faceted venue becomes an ideal gallery space for a rotating exhibition showcasing the very best regional art, while becoming a destination for collectors and buyers keen to support the contemporary British art scene.
“The architecture of the Feldon Valley buildings, together with the views from the restaurant and hotel lodges, provides the perfect setting for displaying and enjoying art. It's going to be a great adventure choosing pieces that enhance these spaces.
“Bespoke commissions are also available, allowing visitors to adapt a piece that has caught their eye or commission artwork capturing a scene or concept personal to them.”
