The nine per cent pay increase comes with an agreement for staff to accept a one waiting-day for sickness absence.

GMB members at DHL Banbury work in warehousing involving medical devices, pharmaceutical and clinical trials logistics and supply chains.

Stevie Robertson, lead convenor and GMB branch secretary, said: “We will always do our best to reach agreements and negotiate for the betterment of our members' lives.”

Steve Garelick, GMB London Region Organiser, said: “An improvement for all workers is sought at this most precarious of times and we hope this increase will send a message to employers everywhere to do the right thing by staff.”
