The government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme has come to an end - but some pubs, cafes and restaurants in the Banbury area are now building on the success of the scheme by making their own discount offers in September.

If your business is offering a discount, email [email protected] and we will add it to the list.

The Chatsworth pub in Banbury has started a half price menu offer.

Matthew Cummings Coules, director of the Gamechanger Pub Co who own The Chatsworth, said: "As Eat out to help out was such a success, we’ve decided to carry it on at the Chatsworth throughout September.

"As a thank you for all your support during our re-opening and due to the phenomenal success of the eat out to help out scheme, we at the Chatsworth are going to continue this through September.

The pub is offering 50 per cent off all food from Monday to Wednesday. Space is limited so booking is advised using the following number: 01295 263344.

They will continue offering their popular pizzas.

Matthew added: "Our Pizza’s have become something of a fan favourite but i guess when you can get a great quality Pizza for less than 6 quid who could say no."

The Cherwell pub in Broad Street, Banbury is also extending the 50 per cent discount for the month of September.

People can enjoy the 50 per cent off food and non-alcoholic drinks from Monday - Wednesday.

The Green Room Tapas Bar and Restaurant in Brackley has also chosen to extend a discounted menu to area diners.

The restaurant posted the following message on its Facebook page: "Here at The Green Room, in Brackley, we are extending the savings for you in these trying times for the extent of September."

Each and every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we are offering our own September Mid-Week ‘Eat Out’ special discount of 30 per cent on all food and drinks including alcohol up to a maximum of £10 off per person."

The discount applies per person and only when each person is dining in. The discount scheme is for all brunch and dinner sittings (excluding high tea) throughout the entire month of September.

Another Banbury area tapas restaurant, El Cafe, will be offering its own discount scheme during the month of September at both its Shipston and Kineton locations.

El Cafe posted this message to its followers on Facebook: "The scheme may be ending, but one month isn't long enough to enjoy great deals and great prices on even greater food."

El Cafe is offering special food deals on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, which include a two for 1 pizza, two person paellas for the price of one and £5 off parillas.

The Malt Shovel pub in Gaydon has not extended the 50 per cent off scheme, but is offered deals on certain menu items throughout the month of September.

On Mondays The Malt Shovel is offering free garlic bread with any pizza takeaways available. On Tuesdays they they're offering reduced prices for Steak Night with an 8oz rump now costing £12.95 instead of £17.95 or an 8oz ribeye for £18.95 reduced from £23.95.
