The owners of The Cone in Parsons Street said that they want to provide a 'fun, colourful holiday vibe setting with a wide range of handmade Gelato'.

Owner Zoie Pettitt said: "I have two teenage children who pop into town a fair bit with their friends but struggle to find somewhere fun and funky that offers a dine-in option with a huge choice of ice cream and desserts – something we always try to find when on holidays.

"In truth it was them that encouraged me to take the leap and create The Cone.

"We offer a large selection of handmade Gelato with dairy free and vegan options. The flavours will be changed frequently so something new will always pop up as a surprise on the menu.

"Anything can be made so if you would like to see something that’s not on display drop us a suggestion.

"Our desserts are all made with the gelato on display with a funky cone twist for example our very own take on a banana split.

And the opening has come just in time for the sunshine. Zoie added: "I opened the doors earlier than planned as we had this amazing choice of gelato and what feels like Italian sunshine so thought why not let everyone enjoy it."

The Cone's usual opening times will be 10.30am – 5.30pm Tuesday to Sunday, with a later close of time of 6pm on a Friday and Saturday and 4.30pm on a Sunday. This may be subject to change during the school holidays.
