Brackley photographer supports small businesses and NHS with free coronavirus lockdown photoshoots

A Brackley photographer has been raising money for the NHS and giving small businesses a boost by providing free photoshoots during the coronavirus lockdown

Katie Appleton Jones has raised £235 so far through the 20 photoshoots with a range of different firms around the town, including cafes, labourers and even a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

"As a local Brackley business, I really take pride in being part of the local community and found that this was my way of supporting others, creating a buzz for when businesses can start opening up or to support those modifying and continuing to provide a service throughout this tough time," she said.

"It has also raised money for the NHS, which is fantastic."

Katie, who runs KT's Photography studio on High Street, said donations have ranged from £5 to £50 with some businesses struggling more than others during the pandemic.

But she has been happy with any amount to support the frontline workers and the work has kept her busy too.

"These images are being used for businesses to advertise, remind the local community of their presence and to encourage people to continue to shop locally," she said.

"It has also put lots of smiles on faces and the shoots were full of laughter, which has been much needed during a concerning time for small businesses."

Anyone who would like to organise a photoshoot for the NHS should call Katie on 07917 878334.
