Launched December 1, 2020, Banburyshire Job Market https://www.facebook.com/groups/banburyshirejobmarket/ has been created to give the local community a useful group to get involved with, keep informed and up to date with opportunities in the local job market.

Mayday Director Andy Keyser said: ''The aim is to have a community driven group that helps those in the local area find work. The group includes a wide range of job adverts from employers and agencies, as you would expect, as well as links selected from job sites and other employers not utilising Facebook. We are also producing some great video content on various job seeking opinions and advice from local business people.

''We have been overwhelmed with the response from people and businesses in the community wanting to get involved and help so far.''

Social media expert Ian Gentles added: "It’s important when you’re out of work to dig deep into your network while exploring options, because people that are slightly further removed from your situation can be invaluable at helping you see the bigger picture. And there isn't a better place than Facebook with their highly tuned algorithm.

''The Oxfordshire Local Industrial Strategy recognises that developing ‘people’ and ‘skills’ will be critical to ensuring economic success. This community driven group can support more people in the local community to access high quality skills provision that leads to good jobs.''
