The organist, who works freelance as a musical director, performer, consultant and teacher, moved into Ashberry Homes’ Cherry Fields development, off Southam Road, in February.

Banbury is the ideal location for his work, which normally sees him travelling by train into London or by car across the country, while his new four-bedroom townhouse has plenty of space to work from home – and of course there’s room for his piano and digital organ too.

Jonathan, 41, who was previously living in Rushden in Northamptonshire, said: “I happened to come across Cherry Fields by luck. I was driving through Banbury and called into a few new-build sites to see what was on offer – Ashberry Homes definitely stood out the most to me, it had much more variety and the homes were great value.

“The reason for my move principally was locational – I wanted to be nearer the west side of the country to save commuter time and be closer to family.

“I had a great experience living in a new build five years ago, so I knew I wanted to explore my options with buying new again. Before my move, it was over 15 years ago since I last visited Banbury, and since then Banbury Gateway has been built and brought new shopping facilities to the town.

“It’s great how close I am to the motorway network now. I mostly commute by car to different cities for my work, and I use Banbury station to commute to London by train. It’s very handy to have a train station that’s just a 20-minute walk away.

“It feels lovely coming home after work, it’s a nice scenic drive into the development. The neighbours are very friendly too and the development has a great community feel.”

Jonathan is really pleased with the townhouse feel of his new home, which has living accommodation spread across three floors.

He said: “I love the three-storey layout. There’s plenty of room for me to work from home which I’ve done more of recently.

“My study and lounge are very spacious, and the well-designed rooms have given me the opportunity to work very productively from home.”

Jonathan was also impressed by the customer service he received from the sales advisors with Ashberry Homes.

He said: “The staff at Ashberry Homes have been so helpful throughout my journey. Moving home can be a stressful time, and they really helped to keep me informed. They are exceptional.”

Only nine homes remain for sale at Cherry Fields, with prices starting at £247,500. The four-bedroom Cornflower showhome has also been released for sale.

House-hunters looking to secure one of the final properties can take advantage of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme and the current stamp duty holiday.
