Banbury hair salon sets free hair cuts day for NHS staff

A Banbury hair salon is offering a free hair cut to all NHS staff members this Sunday, July 26.

The Toni & Guy salon located in the High Street of the town centre across from the Castle Quay Shopping Centre will offer free hair cuts for any NHS staff member from 11am on Sunday.

The Toni & Guy salon, owned and run by the couple Hitesh and Jaymeni Ravrani, is normally closed on Sundays.

Hitesh said: "It's special for the NHS.

The NHS has been working very hard for us. It's our chance to give something back."

NHS staff members can get a free wash, cut and dry of their hair.

Booking ahead of time is encouraged for any NHS staff member interested in the free hair cut.

The Toni & Guy salon was one of many who reopened across Banbury and the UK on Saturday July 4.

The salon made several preparations for the reopening, including making sure the work environment safe for the salon.

Hitesh added: "We have put a hand sanitiser unit near the front door so as soon as a client enters, the client will be asked to use hand sanitiser.

"We have done our risk assessment, and health and safety measures to ensure the salon is safe from Covid-19 and for our staff and our clients.

"We are giving clients a kit, which includes, a face mask, disposable gown, two disposable towels and disposable cup if they need water. We are also giving the client a carrier bag to put their belongings like hand bags and jackets.

"All our staff will be wearing visors, disposable apron and gloves. Visors will be regularly cleaned, and all disposable items will be regularly changed."
