A spokesperson for Banbury BID said: "It was vital to the economy of the town that our local businesses had this clear pathway, allowing planning and preparation to take place, and allow hope to return to our commercial heart.

"We would encourage local businesses to fully support a Visit England initiative, a free UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark to reassure their customers that their business adheres to Government and public health guidance.

"This will assist businesses as they work towards re-opening and welcoming customers.

"Under the banner 'We’re Good To Go' the aim is to provide guidance and resources that allow the participants to provide a 'ring of confidence' encouraging and reassuring local residents and visitors that our commercial sector, has clear processes in place, to protect themselves, their workforce and the public.

"You can complete a self-assessment form including a checklist confirming you have put the necessary processes in place. You will then receive a certification and the ‘We’re Good To Go’ mark to display on your premises and online.

The Banbury BIDs aim is to show visitors to our town, that local retailers, hospitality venues and businesses care about the customer, and together demonstrate Banbury town is a safe environment for everyone."
