Banbury area fish and chip shops show customer appreciation with deals to celebrate National Fish and Chip Day
Many fish and chip shops are hosting deals to celebrate the day, but Atlantis Fish Bar in Grimsbury has taken it a step further.
The fish and chip shop located in Middleton Road is offering a half price deal on regular cod and chips meals every day for the entire month of September.

Hide AdCaroline Rickard, the manager at Atlantis Fish Bar, said: "I feel like when you do a sepcial deal for one day people seem to miss it, this way they keep coming back.
"We want to do our bit to support the community.
"It's perfect for a Friday with today being National Fish and Chip Day.
"We're the national dish so really, it should be celebrated more than the one national day."
This event is championed by trade organisation, The National Edible Oil Distributors Association (NEODA), who represents the oils & fats industry.

Hide AdThe Kineton Chippy went all out to celebrate the day with all staff members wearing National Fish and Chips Day T-shirts. Staff also put up balloons around the outside the shop and organised a colouring and poster making contest for children.
The Kineton Chippy shop, is owned and run by husband and wife team, Sukhpreet Singh and his wife, Juskiran Kaur.
She said: "We want to show appreciation for our customers. Every customer who buys a fish and chips we're giving away a bottle of beer."
The customer appreciation giveaway is from 5pm today, Friday September 4, until close, and while supplies last.

Hide AdShe added: "We've been in the trade for 20 years. We want people to know we're here, and to know National Fish and Chip Day exhists.
"People spend so much money on fish and chips, if they celebrate it as a family meal it tastes so much better."
Timmy Weatherhead won first place in the children's poster making contest, which had a theme of what fish and chips meant to children. The top prize won a gift hamper and the other five children who entered will receive chocolates.
Juskiran added: "We wanted children to be involved. Children are the future."
