Agatha Christie thriller staged by a drama group

The cast of Agatha Christie thriller The Hollow got into the spirit of the 1930s period drama with a photo shoot in the glamorous National Trust property Upton Hall.

Banbury Cross Players present The Hollow at The Mill Arts Centre from Wednesday (April 20) through to Saturday 23. Curtain up is at 7.45pm.

Director Liz Riley said: “The cast had a marvellous time, dressed in their best 1930s cocktail dresses and dinner suits.

“But, not content with having a glamorous cast, we are inviting our audience to don their own finery and join us for cocktails on each of the performance nights before the show starts.”

The play is set in the Art Deco period and The Hollow is the country home of the Angkatells.

Six people arrive for a weekend stay, four cousins and the Cristows.

Then a seventh, unexpected, guest arrives, the demanding film star Veronica Craye.

The following morning one of their number is found dead. As you would expect, everyone is a suspect, and it is up to Inspector Colquhoun to get to the truth.
