Cropredy Convention reveals acts to play summer festival

Organisers of Fairport’s Cropredy Convention have revealed the first acts which will play next year’s festival.

The three day festival returns to the border of Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire from Thursday, August 11 to Saturday, August 13 and weekend tickets are on sale throughout December.

In keeping with tradition, host band Fairport Convention will open the festival before closing on the Saturday night.

They will be joined by acts including Steeleye Span, Ralph McTell, Gryphon, Wille and the Bandits, The Bootleg Beatles, Sound of the Sirens, Hayseed Dixie and Richard Digance.

The rest of the line-up, including the Thursday and Friday headliners, will be announced in January.

Three day pre-Christmas tickets are on sale now throughout December for £120. Camping costs £45 for three nights. Two day and Saturday only tickets will go on sale on February 1.

Fairport’s Cropredy Convention festival takes place on a farmland site north of Banbury.

The festival attracts up to 20,000 music each year.
