Middleton Cheney gallery to focus on photography

Launching for the first time later this month the Heseltine Gallery present [Focus]on Photography, celebrating emerging and established photographers from all over the region.

[Focus]on Photography was launched by the Heseltine Gallery, part of Chenderit School, to identify and champion under-recognised or emerging UK-based photographers.

Exhibitors were chosen from over 150 entries and includes styles and subjects from the experimental to the documentary.

The judges include Kay Reeve a Royal Photographic Society fellow, Donald Maclellan, a renowned portrait photographer (regularly features in newspapers, magazines and National Portrait Gallery), John Griff, BBC Radio presenter, Roddy Lloyd-Jones Chenderit School deputy head and photography teacher and Matt Jeacock, Oxfordshire photographer.

Judge John Griff said, “I've been delighted, and challenged by, the quality of the work you see at this exhibition here today. My congratulations to all who submitted pictures for consideration and to those whose work is on display.

"If you're an exhibition visitor this time, maybe you'll be an exhibited artist next time.”

Showcasing a range of approaches, ability and creativity the winning photographers will receive money prizes and other awards at a special preview session on Saturday, February 29 from 12pm until 2pm.

The exhibition will run until March 31. Gallery opening times are Monday to Friday 10am until 4pm and Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 3pm and if free to enter.

All work will be available to buy.
