A comedian who has supported Sarah Millican on a recent tour will be one of two acts at an event at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury.

Tom Allen appears with Suzi Ruffell on Friday October 28 starting at 8pm.

Suzi returns to the road with her third show Common.

She grew up with crackpot schemes, fireworks off the back of a lorry and some questionable slang.

Suzi has some incredible and sometimes shocking story to share. What happens when you are shoved into a corner with no trust fund, education or plan b?

She has been described as one of the most popular up and coming acts on the UK comedy scene, in constant demand in theatres and clubs across the country, last year she did a double-header tour with Romesh Ranganathan, she is Alan Carr’s official tour support and will be supporting Josh Widdicombe again this Autumn.

Tom Allen is a sharply dressed, well-spoken, disparagingly camp son of working class Bromley explains why he’s occasionally disgusted with modern life yet delighted with its eccentricities.

He expands his detailed yet trivial storytelling as he takes his audience into the depths of his experience of suburbia and his life at home with his parents.

Described with Dickensian relish and an ear for the mundane - bizarre turns of phrase that reveals so much, the aspirations and frustrations of the people he meets told in a lovingly snobbish way. Tom takes you to the furthest outreaches of his experience as the posh haughty gay striving for the exquisite and held back eternally in a world full of ordinary.

Since starting his stand-up career over a decade ago at the age of 22, Tom has won multiple awards and has performed at festivals all over the world.

He was seen on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The John Bishop Christmas Show, The Comedy Store Presents and heard on Radio 4’s Loose Ends and Just a Minute and supported Sarah Millican on her last tour.

Tickets cost between £11.50 and £13.50 and can be booked by calling the box office on 01295 279002 or visit www.themillartscentre.co.uk where more information is available.
