No trouble at Mill who reveal season of treats

The radio comedy Round the Horne is among the entertainment lined up for a new season at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury.

Comedian Zoe Lyons and musician Beverley Craven will appear early in the new year.

First up is Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young on Friday January 13.

One of the UK’s most popular Live touring bands, Los Pacaminos play the very best in Tex MexBorder music from The Texas Tornadoes and Ry Cooder to Los Lobos and even Roy Orbsion.

Following on from this Zoe Lyons brings her new show Little Misfit on Saturday January 21.

She has appeared on Live at the Apollo, The John Bishop show and win the Chortle Best comic award. You might also recognise her from Alan Davies as Yet Untitled, and her regular stints on Mock the Week and The News Quiz.

An unusual show comes to Banbury on Thursday January 26 entitled The Vanishing Man.

BRIT award winning musician Beverley Craven will be live in concert on Friday February 10 will perform Promise Me and Holding On.

The 50th anniversary of tour of ‘Round The Horne can be seen on Wednesday February 15.

From 1965 to 1968 there wasn’t a bigger radio programme in Britain than the ground-breaking Round the Horne. For half an hour every Sunday afternoon, audiences of up to 15 million people would gather around the wireless to listen to Kenneth Horne and his merry crew get up to all sorts of mischief.

This will be followed by the emotional show Thrive on Thursday February 23 and The Party, a comedy two days later.

There will be some Chekov Shorts on Thursday March 16.

The European Arts Company returns with a hugely entertaining collection of short farces by Anton Chekhov, including The Bear and The Proposal. It’s Chekhov as you’ve never seen him before.
