After a sell-out run at the 2016 Edinburgh Festival, award-winning comedian Jo Caulfield comes to The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury with her new show on Friday March 31.

The Customer is Always Wrong stems from arguments in shops and being insulted in a nightclub to trying to reign in her husband’s increasingly alarming get-rich-quick schemes.

A lot can go wrong in everyday life as Jo herself has discovered.

After an acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Jo is heading out across the UK on the second leg of her tour

“I’ve chosen towns that I’ve enjoyed visiting before and have had a nice time – largely to point out to the people there that the rest of the world isn’t as nice as they are” she explains.

Having already completed 30 tour dates in the autumn and with more to come this spring, Jo spends a lot of time on the road.

As a busy touring comedian that she’s encountered a lot of bad – and down right weird – customer service, some of which forms the inspiration for this show.

“I’m not a huge fan of the overly friendly customer service that seems to be the norm nowadays” she confesses “but some of the run-ins I’ve had this year have made me nostalgic for that faux friendliness.

“I’m still not sure how I managed to end up having a massive argument in a shop as the result of trying to buy new boots, but I’ll be talking about that in the show.

“I’ll also be talking about how a late night drink with a friend ended up with me paying £25 for a lap-dance. It’s been a strange 12 months.”

Audiences can expect razor-sharp observations and scandalous one-liners as Jo contemplates everything from relationships to Hollywood movies.

Jo herself says that if you’ve ever been made to feel in the wrong when you’re pretty sure you were right – or have had to stop your husband trying to kidnap cats – this is the show for you. And if you don’t agree, then maybe it’s you that’s wrong…

Tickets for the show are £15.50 for adults and £13.50 for concessions. For more details or to book call 01295 279002 or visit www.themillartscentre.co.uk.
