Amateur boxing and ballet depicted on Banbury stage

Until You Hear That Bell can be seen on Thursday June 2 starting at 7.30pm while The Princess and the Frog is an original ballet which can be seen at 1pm and 3pm the following Saturday.

The first show is presented by Battersea Arts Centre and is a poignant story told which unfolds within three minute boxing rounds.

Until You Hear That Bell is a story focusing upon amateur boxing, confidence building and family relationships.

The show is all about tenacity and working towards a goal for ten years and, slowly but surely, seeing dreams come to fruition.

The Stage has described the show, written by Sean Mahoney, as: “nimble and light-footed, full of little asides. It’s funny – he has great timing – but he’s also created a piece with weight and range.”

London Theatre said: Working within a bare space, and with just a few props, Sean nonetheless paints a series of pictures so vivid that the audience can see and hear it all

Tickets for the show are £14 or £12 for concessions.

The Princess and The Frog is likely to appeal to a very different audience.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess. She loved playing with her golden ball but one day she drops it in the pond.

When a very friendly and very bouncy frog offers to retrieve it in exchange for her friendship, she is far from keen... But in the end the princess must agree to be his friend just to get her ball back. Slowly their friendship grows and the princess is rewarded in true fairy-tale style.

It is an original ballet produced by Let’s All Dance combines ingredients to charm audiences young and old.

A spokesman for the company said: “This includes an original score, gorgeous costumes and crystal clear story-telling draw you into the magical world of classical ballet, and make it accessible to all.”

The show is at 1pm and 3pm. Tickets cost between £8.50 and £13.
